Luke is ONE!
Luke turned on last week on the 21st. I can't believe he's a year old! His birthday was a fun day, though we didn't celebrate it until that evening. He didn't sleep much, what a treat for me! He did finally nap around 3:00pm. After he woke up we took a field trip to the grocery store and then came home for birthday fun! We had grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner, which he didn't care to eat much of that night. He must have been to excited to try chocolate cake. I know Jason was really excited for Luke to eat the cake! After dinner he "opened" presents. We only had a few for him and we decided not to wrap them. We just covered them with blankets and he had to pull the blanket off. He received a bouncing/rocking horse, a bead maze (like those things at the Dr.'s office, except his is smaller) and some books. After presents and playing with the toys for a few minutes he had his cake! He timidly touched the frosting and tasted it and must have decided he liked it because he stuck his hands in it and enjoyed licking it off. Jason finally broke off a piece of the cake so Luke could actually try it. He liked it but the frosting must have been more fun! After cake, he got a bath and then he watched about 20 minutes of Star Wars with Daddy. It's a new birthday tradition, on any of the boys birthdays we'll watch Star Wars (notice I said boys birthdays...mine will not include a viewing of Star Wars). Then it was time for bed. We enjoyed Lukes first birthday and we're pretty certain he did too!
He just tasted the frosting....he's still deciding if it is good. He loved having us sing Happy Birthday to him! He smiled and laughed the whole time. Jason and I blew the candle out for him, he just stared at it.
